I am so excited to announce that my next book, ‘Real Delicious‘ finally hits the shelves today. Real Delicious is a book that I have desperately wanted to write for years… and is a true expression of my core beliefs and overall food philosophy.

Making healthy and well informed food decisions for the entire family can be a minefield! We are now lucky enough to live in a society spoilt for food choices, but combine this with freely available and often conflicting nutrition advice, then top it off with persuasive marketing by food manufacturers, and the end result can be confusion! No wonder choosing what to eat for good health has never been so difficult.

The aim of Real Delicious is to not only provide 100 plus delicious whole food recipes, packed with nutrition that the entire family can enjoy, but to help navigate you through some of the top nutrition issues, based on sound principles in a non biased way, rather than simply what the the latest trend, hype or food fad is.

Real Delicious works its way through all the major food groups, and within each group provides answers to…. what is an actual serve? How many serves should we be eating per day? The nutritional benefits of each food group. But most importantly real delicious empowers you with information, which can help you form your OWN food decisions (rather than being dictated or preached to!) suited to your individual needs. As after all, we are all unique and no one blanket approach should or fits all.

For example, how do you choose a yoghurt that is actually good for you? The nutritional differences between free range & organic eggs and chickens, or grass versus grain fed beef. How do frozen and canned veggies stack up versus fresh? Are fruit and vegetable juices actually a nutritious food? Do grains really have a valuable place in the modern diet? Why is a diet high in processed foods detrimental to long term health? How do I ensure I meet my protein requirements if I am vegetarian or vegan?

Real Delicious addresses these questions plus many more…. as well as showcasing just how delicious and nutritious a diet rich in whole foods can be, for the entire family. Just because you are being healthy does not mean that you can’t eat food that is flavour packed and delicious!

Seeing this book eventuate into a reality has been a wonderful thing, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I loved writing it.     Hi Chrissy, I bought ‘Real Delicious’ yesterday and am blown away with the amount of recipes in the book that I not only want to try asap, but also can see that they will be easy to create. I have lots of cookbooks so i am pleasantly surprised that I’ve descovered one that makes me feel excited about cooking and creating again. I have become one of those people who feels like throwing my hands up in the air with all the conflicting advise out there, so i appreciate your advise throughout the book on what real nutrition really is. Love it, well done.

      Lovely to hear from you and I am SO thrilled to hear that you love ‘Real Delicious’!
      As a nutritionist I am constantly frustrated and baffled by the amount of conflicting info out there, so the aim of this book was to try and give sound, well researched advice based on science rather than fads, as well delicious recipes of course!
