Nutrition Consultations
How I can help you

I offer one on one nutrition consultations, either in person from the ‘Mindsight Centre’, an integrative health clinic located at 239-241 River St Ballina, or via telehealth, which allows me to work with clients from all locations. Prior to your consult I provide a free 10 min introductory phone consultation to discuss your needs and evaluate how I can best help you. If I feel I am not the right person to assist, I can then refer you to the appropriate health professional. For new clients it is essential to book a 75-minute introductory consultation. This allows time for an in-depth analysis of your current eating habits, obstacles to change, the practical implementation of all dietary suggestions and a comprehensive healthy eating plan and recipes emailed to you at the end of the session. For existing clients, 60 minute (extended) or 45-minute follow ups are ideal, aimed to provide ongoing support and accountability, dependent upon your individual needs.

Weight loss

Supporting and helping clients reach their weight loss goals is something that is extremely rewarding. So often clients have tried a myriad of diets in the past that which may or may not have worked in the short term, but are impossible to maintain in the long run. My aim is to help teach sustainable healthy eating strategies which allow you to achieve real results and tailor to suit your own individual and families, needs. Do not think of it as ‘going on a diet’, rather it is adopting healthy eating as a way of life. I like to focus on eating wholefoods, balancing your plate and eating smart. Not deprivation or counting calories! This also allows you to develop and foster a healthy relationship with both your body and mind. I also offer 21-day wholefood meal plans, with delicious recipes, shopping and prep lists, specifically designed to aid your weight loss journey.

Perimenopause & Menopause

Are you struggling during perimenopause/menopause? The menopause transition is a time of significant change for women’s bodies and presents with its own unique challenges for both physical and mental health. Fluctuating hormones can result in persistent weight gain despite eating habits being unchanged, cause havoc for digestive health, and not to mention result in crushing fatigue and soaring stress levels (and emotions). Nutrition is an integral tool, which can assist weight management (and weight loss if required), support muscle health and body composition, and symptom management. Optimal nutrition will also promote your long-term health and wellbeing, reduce the risk of several chronic diseases (that rise post menopause) and ensure important nutrients are being met to enable you to thrive rather than survive during menopause and beyond.

The Anti-inflammatory Diet

Adopting an anti-inflammatory diet can help lower chronic inflammation in the body, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and most importantly, is a practical and achievable dietary approach for long term health and weight management. Quite simply it aims to increase the foods which have an anti-inflammatory effect, such as omega-3 fatty acids, dietary fibre, polyphenols and antioxidants and reduce those with an inflammatory effect such as processed carbs, sugars and saturated fats. There is also a strong plant-based focus and is the way we should all be eating. I love teaching clients how to cook and eat the ‘anti-inflammatory’ way for optimal health and well-being.

Digestive Health

A healthy digestive system plays a pivotal role in supporting our overall health. Increasing the quantity and diversity of plant-based foods in our diet promotes diversity of microbes which in turn is associated with a host of health benefits such as immune function, digestion, healthy skin, weight management, reduced risk of several diseases and chronic inflammation.
