Meet Chrissy
Chrissy Freer is a qualified nutritionist, researcher, health author & recipe developer

Chrissy is an accredited and registered nutritionist RNutr (BAppSc Nutr, MHumNutr, PhD), researcher, health author and recipe creator with over 20 year’s industry experience. She initially studied nutrition as a way of combining her passion for nutrition, healthy eating and good food. Completing her PhD at Deakin University (focusing on muscle health, its link to metabolic diseases and nutrition and exercise strategies to optimise body composition) she always takes an evidence-based and science led approach, absolutely no fad diets here!

Chrissy is passionate about empowering, educating and improving women’s health, especially during perimenopause and menopause, through evidence-based nutrition advice and support. She loves teaching sustainable and achievable eating habits for long-term weight management that simply become a way of life. She helps women create a positive relationship with food and creates delicious recipes inspired by a Mediterranean style (anti-inflammatory) dietary pattern.

Chrissy also has extensive experience working as media nutrition expert and contributed to countless magazines and books as a nutritionist, food and health writer, recipe creator and food editor. She was in-house nutrition editor for taste.com.au and now works in research at Southern Cross University.

Chrissy is the author of numerous books, including, supergrains: eat your way to great health, focusing on ancient whole grains, and their health benefits, superlegumes: eat your way to great health, highlighting legumes impressive nutritional properties, Real Delicious containing over 100 wholefood recipes for health and wellness, and most recently, The Anti-inflammatory cookbook with 100 delicious family friendly recipes focusing on a whole-food Mediterranean (anti-inflammatory) style dietary pattern.
